SipSupplyInc.com Building Science Solutions Extreme Thermal Performance Insect & Mold Resistant 1-877-321-SIPS Page 2: Cutting Edge Technology SIPS-Structurally Insulated Panels  SIPs are high-performance building panels for floors, walls, and roofs, in residential, commercial, and specialty structures and applications.  Each panel is manufactures using an expanded polystyrene (EPS) foam insulation laminated between two structural skins of 26 gauge galvalume steel. Other surfaces are also available to meet your needs.  Continuous panel lengths up to 53 feet maintaining Engineered specifications and strength  Panel thickness from 2 inches to 12 inches Page 3: Cutting Edge Technology  SIPS--Structurally Insulated Panels  EPS Foam core structural insulated metal panels are available in pre painted stucco embossed metal skins structurally laminated to the EPS insulated foam cores. This construction method provides for high energy efficiency and quicker construction time.  Roof panels are typically 6” or 8” thick with a TRUE “R” value performance of R – 4.25 per inch of panel thickness.  Walls are typically 4” or 6” with a TRUE “R” value performance and thermal resistance over the LIFE of the product  The result is a building system that is very strong, predictable, energy efficient, and cost effective without costly maintenance and repair/upkeep costs offering superior performance Page 4: Advantages “Energystar”  All homes, buildings and structures can be tested and rated by certified Energy Rating specialists. Typical energy savings are 50 – 70% less than traditional construction. The SIP panels do NOT loose their efficiency over time like traditional insulation  Excellent indoor air quality through airtight construction, no air leakage or infiltration. Rooms and areas maintain a constant temperature without large fluctuations and noisy air handling equipment creating noise and drafts.  Environmentally friendly materials (steel is recycled and is recyclable). EPS insulation cores have proven long term durability and do not break down and loose their excellent insulating performance characteristics over time.  Hurricane resistant, Impact resistant, extreme thermal performance and indoor air quality Page 5: Certification  Meets and/or exceeds new Florida and Gulf Coast hurricane requirements with engineering up to 230 MPH wind loads.  All structures are certified by a licensed Engineer/Architect for structural design and integrity based on the stringent testing requirements and protocol of Florida Building Commission, ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials, UL (Underwriters Laboratory) extensive testing guidelines.  Fire resistant (up to 2 hour load bearing ratings)  Termite, pest, mold, mildew, and water resistant due to the highest quality and high performance building technology.  Nationally recognized Quality Control Manufacturing Program monitored and inspected by independent QC auditors Page 6: Beneficial Features  Excellent energy efficiency  Does NOT warp, rot, twist, crack, or add heavy   foundation loads Insect Resistant by using PERMA Guard insect resistant EPS foam cores in ALL manufactured SIP panels Flexible design details to address almost all on site changes and architectural features and designs Quiet interior as a result of using a dense EPS insulation core with no air leakage for sound to travel through Significantly less air leakage means fewer drafts, less noise, lower energy bills, and a significantly more comfortable and healthy indoor environment.   Page 7: Cost Effective  Building with SIPs generally costs about the same as building with wood frame and/or block construction, when you factor in the labor savings resulting from shorter construction time, less material waste and sorting through the wood to find unwarped and untwisted materials. Panels are straight, true, plumb, and do not twist, warp, bend, and deteriorate on the jobsite because of weather, moisture and similar job site problems.  Structures go up faster and straighter, helping you to keep on YOUR schedule and in  control of YOUR labor and YOUR construction scheduling costs. The superior structural strength and spanning ability of SIP’s significantly reduces the amount of structural steel required, reducing steel labor and material  SIPs are made in large sizes, 45-1/2” wide by up to 53 ft long so assembly on-site is faster, framing crews are more productive, and the project is dried-in significantly sooner. Installations can be accomplished from a scissor or man lift  Additional savings are realized because less expensive heating and cooling systems are required with SIP construction, coring through block to run electrical, separate lentil and headers are not required, heavy lifting equipment is not required, along with many other cost saving features. Page 8: Electrical & Plumbing  The interior surface of the wall and roof panel is typically furred out with 1 1/2" furring channels to promote conventional surface mounted installation of wiring and plumbing  Ductwork can be placed in dropped ceiling areas  Typically, plumbing is installed in interior walls and floors, but not in exterior walls. Where exterior wall vent pipes are necessary, chases can be formed in the foam cores or the wall framed out  Installing island vents or loop vents is also a common practice Page 9: Projects Page 10: Projects Page 11: Projects Page 12: Projects Page 13: Projects Page 14: Projects Page 15: Projects Page 16: School Projects Page 17: School Projects Page 18: Privacy Wall Projects Page 19: Floor System Projects  Insulated Panel Floor System with loading up to 150 psf  Can be used in combination with numerous floor truss systems Page 20: Specialty Buildings Noise Attenuation Roof Top Additions Pump Houses Compressor Buildings Page 21: Specialty Steel Products  Custom fabricated structural steel skeletons designed to withstand extreme building conditions  Patent pending hip roof and connection systems available to suit any architectural design preference Page 22: Energy Efficiency Awards Page 23: Impact Missile Testing  Heavy Missile Impact Testing surpassed the requirements for all required structures as per the State of Florida Impact Requirements for Educational Facilities SSTD-12-99 and ASTM E1886 Wind Cycling and ASTM E-1996 Impact by Windborne Debris in Hurricanes including water resistance AFTER heavy missile impact and hurricane wind cycling Page 24: Testing & Product Approvals  SSTD-1299 Non Porous Impact Protective Systems “State of Florida requirements for        Educational Facilities” Chapter 5, section 5.4 Paragraph (d) Structural Missile Impact Criteria (Heavy Impact Missile at 50 feet Per Second) Florida Building Commission Approval Listing for both Wall and Roof Assemblies (FL6787 Walls and FL-6751 Roof) ASTM E-1886 - 02 “Standard Test for Curtain Walls: Large Missile Impact and Exposed to Cyclic Pressure Differentials” (+/-) through 4500 cycles of each positive and negative pressure ASTM E-1996 – 02 “Standard Specification for Curtain Walls Impacted by Windborne Debris in Hurricanes” ASTM E-72 “Vacuum Chamber Structural Load Tests” Shear Modulus of Panel Core, Shear Strength of the Panel Core, Bending Strength, Connection Strength ASTM-1592 & UL 580 “Standard Test Method for Steel/Metal Roof systems by Uniform Static Air Pressure Difference UBC-26-3 and UL-1715 Room Fire Test Standards ASTM E-119-00a “Fire Test of Building Construction & Materials” Test Conditions also described by Testing Standards UBC-7-1/1997, UBC 263 a and the NFPA 251 (National Fire Protection Association) for 1 Hour Fire Rated Load Bearing Wall Assemblies at 1650 LBS per lineal foot of wall Page 25: Testing & Product Approvals  ASTM E-108 “Standard Test Methods for Fire      Tests of Structural Roof Coverings” Intermittent Flame Test, Spread of Flame Test, Burning Brand Test, Rain Test, and Weathering Class B Roof Assembly Rating at 5/12 Pitch ASTM 1592 Fastener and Connection Strength of Roof Assemblies UL, ASTM, ICC/ICBO, BOCA, NBC, RBC, SBCCI Certified EPS Insulation Cores International Steel Specifications and Approvals Certified Lamination Adhesive Page 26: Testing and Product Approvals  Extreme Fire Testing has been completed and certified on the SIP panel products and systems to exceed the building code having jurisdiction and all required Engineering Page 27: Sip Supply Inc.
